Hello dear people, it was about time again for an update!
So here we go.
We have since the last update arrived back in Spain.
Still, we stayed in the Netherlands a lot longer than initially intended.
There were two reasons for this.
One reason was that we had not yet found immediate tenants for our house.
There was plenty of interest, but we wanted the tenants where it would be “right” and know that God’s hand was in it.
Just when we heard that our previous tenants would be leaving, news came from our Italian friends from Spain.
They told me they were eager to move to the Netherlands.
Right then I was like, okay, maybe they want to live in our house.
But I also knew that they wanted to live in another part of the Netherlands (the south), so it didn’t seem like a good match at first.
Yet they live there now!
As it seems now, only for a short time, a few months.
We are very grateful that we were able to rent the house to friends again.
Maarten broke his hip!
But something else happened that prolonged our stay in the Netherlands.
We were to go to Denmark for a weekend, where I was to film a story of someone who fell into a coma after a fall and had little chance of survival but, thanks to God, recovered miraculously fast.
But 2 days before leaving, our son Martin fell and broke his hip.
When it happened, we actually couldn’t imagine that he had broken anything, because it just happened at home and it didn’t seem like such an unusual fall at all.
He underwent immediate surgery that evening and then was not allowed to put any weight on his hip for 6 weeks.
With some delay, I later traveled to Denmark anyway, together with good friend Wouter who “coincidentally” offered to go to Denmark together.
He had heard that I wanted to go to Denmark to film, but he didn’t know about Maarten’s hip or that we were planning to go as a family.
So that was great and so we spent 2 days there to capture the beautiful story.
The video will be online very soon!
‘They don’t pay a cent’
In the Netherlands, Evelyn we met some old friends and we told them about Maarten. “Oh, what about insurance for the surgery? Are you insured in Spain? Don’t you have travel insurance?” With the immediate comment “Spain will not pay you a penny, you will have to pay everything yourself. When the conversation was over and Evelyn walked away she immediately said “I renounce this nonsense in Jesus’ name. Everything will be fine. And so it went. Yes, it is important not to allow worry in your life – Jesus is very clear: don ‘t be worried about anything.
Plans
There are some new plans in development, but too early to share about them.
Instead, I’m sharing some photos from recent times.
